Specialist degrees

There are altogether 10 areas of specialization targeted towards jobs within the social and health services, the school system, business community, or private clinics:

  • Clinical Child Psychology: Mental disorders in children and adolescents – causes, characteristics and treatment.
  • Clinical Child Neuropsychology: Children and adolescents with developmental disorders caused by congenital or acquired brain damages or dysfunctions.
  • Educational Psychology: The interaction between children’s development and learning and the organization of educational environments and systems.
  • Health Psychology (children/adults): Health promotion and psychological efforts in relation to physical illness.
  • Psychotherapy (children/adults): Scientifically supported psychological treatment methods applied to mental and somatic diseases.
  • Psychopathology: The origin and symptoms of mental illnesses and their impact on the life of the individual.
  • Psychotraumatology: Human reactions, chronic illnesses and injuries related to traumatic events.
  • Clinical Neuropsychology: Alterations of mind and personality resulting from diseases and injuries to the brain.
  • Gerontopsychology: Mental challenges and problems in healthy and ailing elderly people, related to depression and dementia, among other disorders.
  • Work and Organizational Psychology: Development of individuals and groups based on work-related and organizational correlations.
